Marissa Alperin weighs in on some exciting trends for engagement rings!

This L for Love ring is made with
rubies and diamonds in 18k.

Though diamonds are forever, settings are beginning to steal some of the limelight!

With the recent trend toward custom engagement rings, many new brides are stepping away from the simple, traditional solitary diamond setting and instead opting for a personalized custom setting, incorporating burst of color and textural elements for a much more symbolic ring.
Examples include clusters of smaller diamonds that give the illusion of one big stone and incorporating luxurious sapphires or rubies and other brilliant precious and semi-precious stones into their ring. In some cases, brides have even cleverly added their fiance's birthstone, as perhaps an ode (and reminder!) to the bonds of love and marriage. On top of all else, brides have also taken to including subtle secrets such as inside and outside engravings, hidden bottom stones and even textured bands, with both his and hers matching.

The end result is the wonderful creation of a deeply personal object, a stunning twist on the elegance of the "forever" ring. Stop by Marissa Alperin Studio for more tips and trends! Don't forget to check out her website for additional images and ideas!
